Idy Akpan is a psychometrist with expertise in the administration and scoring of psychometric tests for children and adolescents. Idy earned a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Uyo in Nigeria in 2003 and an advanced diploma in photonics engineering from Algonquin College in Ottawa in 2007.  Idy worked in the science and technology industry for over 10 years but pursued her passion for helping others by volunteering in the Calgary community and supporting immigrant families. In 2019 Idy decided on an official career change and in 2021 she earned her BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Calgary.  Since then, Idy has worked with children and families as a research assistant at the University of Calgary, a crisis support worker, a psychometrist for Alberta Health Services, and a school wellness worker for the Calgary Catholic School District.
