consultation services

Whether you are a parent, educator, or physician, consultations offer a thoughtful outside perspective, practical strategies, and a space to clarify concerns, problem-solve challenges, and plan next steps.

Hands Forming Heart

Parent Consultation

While you're the ultimate expert on your own child, parent consultation sessions offer a (judgment-free) outside perspective, new insights, and evidence-based guidance in dealing with parenting challenges. They are also a great starting point when your child or adolescent is not interested in attending therapy quite yet.  Sessions are flexible, goal-focused, and designed to help you feel confident, aligned, and supported without requiring your child or adolescent to be directly involved.

Teacher Consultation

Teachers can offer invaluable insight into a child’s learning, behaviour, and social and emotional functioning, and are often a powerful point of intervention. Teacher consultation sessions provide an opportunity to deepen understanding of a child, problem-solve classroom challenges, and explore evidence-based strategies to support your child's learning, engagement, and mental health in the classroom. Teacher consultation may involve gathering information to help inform and support your child and family at home, sharing clinically informed strategies with educators to support your child in the classroom, or both. Teacher consultation is offered only with caregiver consent and typically after a clinician has had the opportunity to get to know your child and family.

Physician Consultation

Physician consultation sessions can support shared understanding and coordinated care. Because psychologists often get to spend more time getting to know a child or family, we may have a deeper understanding of patterns, strengths, and challenges over time. With your consent, this information can be shared to help complement medical appointments, where physicians must often make important decisions within shorter visits. The goal is to add context and perspective so everyone involved is working from a shared understanding and aligned plan of support.
